Nigerian Author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has won the US National Critics Book Prize Award for her novel "Americanah".The National Critics Book Prize was first awarded in 1974 and its open to writers of all nationalities whose work has been published in the US .

Chimamanda’s novel tells the story of a Nigerian woman who moves to the US to pursue a college education.

The writer’s novel “Americanah” has also been nominated for the UK’s Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction-formerly known as the Orange Prize alongside 19 other authors. .Six finalist will be announced on April 7, 2014 and the winner will be unveiled on June 4, 2014.
