WHY I HAVE LEFT THE APC- Femi Fani-Kayode

The former Nigeria Aviation Minister had announced earlier today that he has decamped from APC back to PPD.
Read below his views
WHY I HAVE LEFT THE APC- Femi Fani-Kayode
I declared for the APC in June last year in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state well before the party was registered by INEC. I formally joined the party, amidst great fanfare, on 7th February 2014 in my hometown Ile-Ife and I registered my membership on that day.

THE POWER OF A WOMAN- Femi Fani-Kayode

THE POWER OF A WOMAN
Femi Fani-Kayode

Women are a precious gift from God but there are some things that all men need to know.
Women are by far the deeper and more powerful of the two sexes. No matter how strong a man thinks he is, he is like butter in the hands of a woman that he loves.
It is only a woman that can carry a child for nine months and raise that child to adulthood and yet until the day that that woman dies only she will know the real father of that child.

Women are more discerning than men, more calculating, more thoughtful, more spiritual, more loyal, and more disciplined and they can handle emotional pain and psychological torture far better than men.

GIVE ME ODUDUWA OR LET ME DIE- Femi Fani-Kayode

GIVE ME ODUDUWA OR LET ME DIE
By Femi Fani-Kayode

“If they ever tell my story let them say I walked with giants, men rise and fall like the Winter wheat but these names will never die... Let them say I lived in the time of Hector, tamer of horses...let them say I lived in the time of Achilles”- the Iliad, Homer.

The words of Odysseus in Homer's epic and ancient poem titled ''The Iliad'' (which in my view is the greatest poem that was ever written and which was quoted in the opening and last scene of the famous Hollywood blockbuster film titled ''Troy'') have always moved me. Those words are deep and profound: they stir my soul and rekindle my spirit.

They speak of and reflect the essence of Ancient Greece with it's rich and exciting history, it's extraordinary heroes and heroines and it's all-powerful and all-knowing gods, titans and immortals.

How I wish that I could conjure up such great and powerful words about the history of my nation Nigeria and her heroes past. How I wish that the Nigerian people had their own Odysseus' , Achilles', Agamemnons and Hectors.

How I wish they had their own ancient poets and great thinkers like Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and Homer who could remind generations to come about our past exploits with their inspiring, compelling and historic prose. Yet I look at the Nigeria of today and I am not encouraged or inspired. As a matter of fact I am deeply saddened.

I see no heroes on the horizon but only questionable pretenders and fallen caricatures that have sold their heritage and destiny for a mess of pottage and that couldn't give a fig about what history or posterity will say about them or their country. Many have asked why I should say such things. Permit me to answer that pertinent question by posing a few of my own.

I start by asking: is this the Nigeria of Murtala Mohammed and Theophilius Yakubu Danjuma? Is this the nation that helped to liberate Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa?

Is this the nation that restored sanity and stability to Sierra Leonne, that brought an end to a civil war in Liberia, that fought so gallantly in Burma and Somalia and that quelled a military coup in Sao Tome and Principe?

Is this the nation whose wealth once knew no bounds and whose middle class once owned the finest cars and properties in London, Paris and New York? Is this the nation whose beautiful people once graced the streets of Belgravia, Chelsea, Hampstead and Knitsbridge?

Is this the country that once nationalized BP and that gave Margaret Thatcher sleepless nights over apartheid South Africa ? Is this the nation that once stood up to the mighty Boers and whose ancestors studied at Oxford and Cambridge as far back as the 1800's?

Is this the nation whose inhabitants and various ethnic nationalities once ruled vast empires and whose progenitors contributed so much to the traditions, religion and culture of Ancient Egypt?

Is this the country that once fought a bitter and brutal civil war, yet declared ''no victor, no vanquished'' and, in the spirit of love, came back as one? Is this the country which has been through thick and thin and yet whose people remained ever so resilient and always put a smile on their faces?

Is this the country where giants once held court and where the greats of old once presided? Where did we go wrong? What has happened to our people and what has afflicted our country? When did our leaders become spineless cowards and deceivers? When did the green white green of our nation's flag become soiled with human faeces and when was it torn to shreds?

When did we shy away from fighting our own battles and prosecuting our own wars? When did we start bowing our heads in shame as events unfold in our country? When did we start sitting down silently as international newscasters speak about our nation in painful, disdainful, hushed and condescending tones?
What has happened to the ever courageous, ever smiling, ever confident and ever dependable Nigerian who shook the world with his arrogance and confidence and who spoke of his nation with pride and joy?

What has happened to our great army that was once the pride of Africa and that once made us so proud? What has happened to our great intellectuals and our men and women of courage and vision who once, like a collosus, bestrode the world?

What has happened to the stubborn and proud yet warm, friendly and profoundly good people that Nigerians once were? What has happened to the people that were once regarded as the hope of Africa and the pride of every black man on the planet?

Where and when did we go astray? How and when did it all go wrong? When did we lose our strength, our wealth, our honour and our power? When did we lose our excellence, our confidence, our dignity and our self-respect? When did we become so weak and so helpless? When did we turn into killers, savages and barbarians?

When did we become so pitiful that the whole world mocks us and heaps insults on us so easily? When did they start saying that we have ''no serious government'', that we have ''lost control of large portions of our nation'' and that we can't even protect our own children? When did we become incapable of defending our borders and protecting our people?

When did we turn into a laughing stock and a reference point for incompetence, stupidity, cowardice, ignorance, evil, cluelessness and all that is bad to the rest of the world?

When did other nations start giving us lessons on how to fight insurgency and how to prosecute our wars? When did our people start clamouring for foreign armies to enter our land, violate our sovereignty and march on our sacred soil?

When did we start having to ask others to come and solve our local problems? O Nigeria, how are the mighty fallen. Truly ours is a nation afflicted. She is finished and there is little hope of any form of redemption or resurrection.

The honeymoon is over and the glory has departed. One hundred years of a forced and failed marriage has ended in a bitter yet undeniable divorce. We have lost it all and there is no going back. Those that wish to break up our nation for sport and bring our people to their knees have had their way.

Those that wish to watch us slaughter one another in an orgy of mindless violence and that wish to establish their AFRICOM in our shores will soon be here and we shall be occupied forever.

O Nigeria, how are the mighty fallen. I loved Nigeria but now I have stopped believing in her. She is saddled with many different sub- nations that were simply incompatible right from the start.

She is plagued and cursed with one particular sub-nation whose ruling elite are dangerous and unyielding, whose guile and deceit is second to none, who treat their own people with contempt and derision, who believe that they were born to rule, who think that power belongs to them, who suppress the religious and ethnic minorities within their ranks and who were taught from an early age that there was none besides them.

Those people have killed Nigeria. They and those who have consistently bowed and trembled before them and who have always allowed them to have their way.

Our nation has become a cruel joke- she is a maliciously contrived contraption that has shattered many dreams and frustrated many ambitions and aspirations. This was a country that was created for the benefit of just a few at the cost of the misery and pain of so many.

I will never accept the idea of living in a nation side by side with religious extreemists who slit the throats of children, who habitually slaughter the innocents and who abduct and fornicate with small girls. Animals have no place in the homes of men.

It is time for us to stop pretending: let the terrorists and their friends in high places break away and establish their own country where they can marry as many young girls as they please and chop off as many limbs as they want. Let them form a nation where they can stone adulterers and turn women into chattels that are not even worthy of life.

Let those of us from the west establish Oduduwa and let us celebrate and enjoy our freedom from the bondage and ineptitude of a cruel failed state that has no soul and that lacks humanity and compassion.

Let us be liberated from the deceit that is known as Nigeria: a nation that once was but that is no more. Let us be free of Nigeria: a nation where injustice, evil, persecution, insensitivity, impugnity, terror, graft and wickedness reign supreme.

Let us be rid of Nigeria: a country where those of us that had the misfortune of being born on the ''wrong'' side of the regional divide or who are adherents of the ''wrong'' religious faith are butchered for our heritage and can never be treated as equals. Give us Oduduwa or let us die.

Yet we will eventually take our freedom by force if it is not freely given to us. We shall take it by fire: by the shedding of blood and by our own bleeding if necessary. We will take it by fire and by sacrificing our lives if that is what we are forced to do.

What we will never do is continue to live in perpetual slavery in a nation called Nigeria that is afflicted with feeble rulers and peopled by religious bigots, sexual deviants and bloodthirsty terrorists.

We shall not allow ourselves to be consummed by the weakness and ineptitude of our present-day rulers and the sheer incompetence of those that do not have the courage or the moral authority to crush the beasts that have abducted and enslaved our girls.

I have had enough. I say goodbye Nigeria: give us Oduduwa or let us die.

Al Qaeda are in Nigeria -Femi Fani-Kayode

Al Qaeda are in Nigeria
By Femi Fani-Kayode
President Goodluck Jonathan has finally admitted that Al Qaeda are in Nigeria and that they are helping Boko Haram. He said this during his press conference earlier today in Paris.
Gosh. I really do wonder what is new here? Has the President only just realised that Al Qaeda is here? I told him and the Nigerian public that 3 years ago in numerous essays and even on this wall. No-one listened and in the typical Nigerian way they buried their heads in the sand like the ostrich and said that I was an alarmist. Now they know better.
After no less than at least 10.000 innocent Nigerians have been butchered by islamist terrorists in the last 3 years alone and after hundreds of our children have been abducted from their schools and homes, sold like cattle in foreign markets and turned into sex slaves in foreign lands our President has only just realised that Al Qaeda is involved and that we are involved in a full scale war. Goodness me!!!
Worse still, testifying on Thursday before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Gen. Mark Welsh III, US Air Force Chief of staff, said the following about the Nigerian military:

“We are now looking at a military force that is, quite frankly, becoming afraid to even engage. The United States doesn’t have the capacity or the capability to go rescue every kidnapped person around the world.”
I have never been as ashamed to be a Nigerian as the day that I heard those words from this American commander.
May God deliver the people of Nigeria.

BOKO HARAM, JONATHAN AND THE NORTHERN ELDERS - Femi Fani-Kayode

BOKO HARAM, JONATHAN AND THE NORTHERN ELDERS
By Femi Fani-Kayode

On 4th May 2014, Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the military wing of Boko Haram, released a video tape with the following words. This was three weeks after abducting almost 300 girls from their school in Chibok and three days before abducting eight more young girls from Warabe Village, Borno state. He said:
"I am going to marry out any woman who is 12 years old, and if she is younger, I will marry her out at the age of nine. You are all in danger, I mean all of you. I am the one who captured all those girls and will sell all of them. I have a market where I sell human beings because it is All ah that says I should sell human beings. Yes, I will sell women, because I sell women. I captured and abducted girls in a Western school, and it became a worrying issue for all of you. You have forgotten that I have said that it is not only girls' education I am against. I am against everyone who attends a Western school. Girls should go and marry. Slavery is allowed in my religion, and I shall capture people and make them slaves. Don't think we are done yet because we are not. We are on our way to Abuja and we shall also visit the South. I am going to kill all the Imams and other Islamic clerics in Nigeria because they are not Muslims since they follow democracy and constitution. It is Allah that instructed us, until we soak the ground of Nigeria with Christian blood, and so-called Muslims contradicting Islam. We will kill and wonder what to do with their smelling corpses. This is a war against Christians and democracy and their constitution. Allah says we should finish them when we get them. In fact, you are supposed to wash and re-wash a plate Christian eats food from before you eat as Muslims. Are Christians the people we should play with? They killed us in Shendam, Zangon Kataf and other places. It is either you are with us or you are with them, and when we see you, we will harvest your neck with knife''.

These words are self-explanatory and they need no further analysis. They speak for themselves. It is self-evident that Mr. Shekau is not only a barabaric, dangerous, sadistic, delusional, homicidal, misogynistic, psycopathic and sociopathic paedophile all rolled into one but his words adequately reflect the sheer ruthlessness, callousness and depravity that the Haramite mind has degenerated to. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that this man is totally possesed by the most bloodthirsty and vampiric demons and that he has been sent from the hottest part of hell to torment and destroy our country. Even Al Qaeda, in all it's cruelty and wickedness, have apparently condemned the latest atrocity committed by Shekau and his merry group of islamist terrorists in Chibok.

Yet despite their utter depravity they appear to have a few powerful friends at home who are speaking for them, albeit in a very subtle and covert manner. Permit me to give just one example of such a group.

Instead of joining the rest of the civilised world and insisting that Boko Haram must be utterly crushed and their leaders eliminated, a group known as the Northern Elders have said that the Federal Government ''should pay billions as ransom to Shekau and release all detained Boko Haram members'' and that there must be ''no foreign forces in Nigeria". They have also demanded that ''force should not be used'' in securing the freedom of the abducted girls.

These demands and conditions are repugnant and instructive. The bitter truth about this whole matter is getting clearer by the day. It is the same people that did not want troops to be deployed to the area in the first place.
It is the same people that did not want a state of emergency to be declared in the north-east. It is the same people that have been urging the government to negotiate with Boko Haram for the last three years.
It is the same people that have consistently asked that Boko Haram should be treated with kid gloves and that they should be offered amnesty even when the islamist group have slaughtered no less than 10,000 innocent people in the last three years.
It is the same people that are suggesting that Boko Haram is actually a creation of the CIA, MOSSAD and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
It is one of these so-called northern elders that referred to Boko Haram as ''freedom fighters'' who are simply ‘’fighting for justice’’ only last year. It is another that said that members of Boko Haram ought to be treated ''in the same way as the Niger Delta militants'' and that they should be rehabilitated, resettled and paid large sums of money only last year.

It is another that said that ‘’muslims should only vote for those that would protect their interests’’ and that he would see to it that ‘’sharia law is implemented and applied throughout the whole country’’ in 2001.

It is another that said that Nigeria was created by the British and granted independence by them in 1960 on the clear understanding that ''a northern muslim would always lead the country’’ in 1994. It is another that said that if the north does not have it’s way on the voting formula at the Constitutional Conference he would lead his people ''out of Nigeria and into the Camerouns’’ just over a month ago. It is another that said that they would make our country ‘’ungovernable’’ if a southerner was elected into power in 2011.

It is another that said, only a few weeks ago, that our country ‘’would burn’’ if Jonathan or any other southerner contests for the Presidential election in 2015. It is another that told us just last year that ''poverty was the root cause of Boko Haram'' and that the south was receiving too much money whilst the north was not receiving enough. How much more of these provocative rationalisations, threats and rhetoric can we be expected to take? Are we really one country?

Just three weeks after the Haramites have abducted almost 300 young school girls at Chibok, burnt down their school and kept them as sex slaves, just two weeks after two bombs have gone off in Nyanya, Abuja killing a total of 150 people between them and just three days after no less than 350 innocent people were slaughtered by the same islamist group in Gamborou Ngala, a border town with the Camerouns, these so-called northern elders are saying that force must not be used against them. This is insensitive and unacceptable and their suggestion must be treated with the contempt that it deserves.
I just do not know what it will take for the Nigerian people to accept the fact that Boko Haram is the greatest evil that our country has ever had to contend with since independence and that there can be no negotiation or dialogue with such demons. I just do not know what it will take for these so-called northern elders to accept the fact that evil is evil, that you must never negotiate with terrorists and that their ''gentle way'' simply cannot work.
The truth is that until every single one of the Haramites is hunted down, brought to justice and despatched to hell where they belong there will be no peace in our country. We must also eliminate their closet supporters who secretly encourage, fund and protect them because there can be no fellowship between light and darkness.
I have always viewed all those that have suggested that Boko Haram should be treated with kid gloves with the utmost suspicion. It is either that we live in a civilised country where the rule of law prevails, where beasts have no place and where murderous animals are treated like the savages that they are or we shall have no country at all.
All this talk about ''not using force'' must stop because it is nonsensical, it is counter-productive and it presents a very real threat to our desire to continue to live as one nation. Those that abduct, rape, kill, enslave and terrorise little girls deserve no mercy and they do not deserve to live.
Those that believe that the Haramites are rational or reasonable and that say that ''force should not be used against them'' should go to the Sambisi Forest and give up them their own daughters in exchange for our missing girls. After they have done that they can be as gentle as they like with Boko Haram.
In all this President Goodluck Jonathan has much to learn and I would be the last person to condone or endorse what I consider to be his inexplicable restraint and weakness in the fight against Boko Haram. Mr. President has failed woefully to protect the lives and property of the Nigerian people and no responsible, self-respecting and rational human being, including those that consider themselves to be his friends, should fail to admit this or should shy away from telling him so.

We expect far more and far better from him and if he fails to deliver on this he would not only have betrayed his mandate, violated his oath of office and let down the Nigerian people but he will play right into the hands of his sworn and collective enemies. If he fails to do this he would play right into the hands of the Haramites and their secret friends. In this respect Mr. Opeyemi Agbaje's words are instructive. On 9th May 2014 he wrote:
''we warned Jonathan. We called for action against Boko Haram and we screamed until our voices went hoarse. Now the people who advised him against taking strong action and called for dialogue, the very people that said it was caused by poverty, the very people that promised that traditional rulers would resolve the matter, the very people that encouraged him to vacillate and do nothing or little, are the ones mocking him. Well that is why leaders must exercise leadership. The buck stops at his table. The credit or the failure goes to him. I hope he learns!''
How true Agbaje's words are. Let us hope that our President does us all a favour and listens.

MORE FACTS ABOUT THE TRAGIC EVENTS AT CHIBOK - Femi Fani-Kayode

MORE FACTS ABOUT THE TRAGIC EVENTS AT CHIBOK
By Femi Fani-Kayode

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has told us that 90 per cent of the girls that were abducted at Chibok were christians. The President himself alluded to this yesterday during his media chat when he said that ''the majority'' of girls that were abducted were christians.

It has also been brought to my attention that the majority of the girls that either ''escaped'' or were released by their abductors were muslims.
It has also been brought to my attention that the Governor of Borno state refused to accept the counsel and abide by the directives of WAEC that the exams should not take place in Chibok due to the precarious security situation and instead he insisted that the exams should take place there and that he would guarantee the security of the children.
It has also been brought to my attention, based on the testimony of one of the girls that ''escaped'' that the girls that have been kidnapped are being raped up to 15 times a day by their captors and that those amongst them that have refused to convert to islam are having their throats cut. (see today's Vanguard Newspaper, pg. 8)
It has also been brought to my attention that two of the ladies that met with the First Lady yesterday and that held themselves out as representatives of the families of the abducted children did not in fact have any link with the children or their families at all and hence they were arrested for impersonation.
It has also been brought to my attention that the soldiers that were guarding the school in Chibok were redeployed at the last minute just before Boko Haram launched their attack and abducted the children.
These facts are all relevant and the picture of what really happened at Chibok and what is really going on now is getting clearer by the day. Ordinarily whether the children are christians or muslims really should not matter because, regardless of their faith, we want them all back and we must fight for them all.
However the fact that 90 per cent of them are christian adds a sinister and frightening dimension to the whole horrific episode and it is glaring evidence of the fact that christian girls are now being targetted by the islamists and that those girls are being forcefully converted to islam and being turned into sex slaves.

I am one of those that believes that the Federal Government has failed woefully in their primary duty to protect the Nigerian people and I have enunciated that position more than anyone else in this nation over the last three years. However we need to understand that this matter goes beyond politics and whether you are for or against the President.
It goes beyond whether you are in APC, PDP, APGA, Labour or UPN. Regardless of which side of the political divide we stand, we all have a duty to get to the bottom of the matter and find out what is really going on. We must join hands with all men and women of goodwill and together we must fight this insidious evil.

To be sure there is only one thing worse than failing to protect your people and that is when you organise people to use religion as a political tool and you kill, abduct and maim them in an attempt to change the status qou and cow the Nigerian people into submission. That is what those that are the secret supporters and sponsors of Boko Haram are doing.

What is going on is bloody, brutal, deep, dark and sinister and it is a conspiracy of monuemental proportions which we have all fallen victim to. It is left for the President and his team to rise up to the occassion, tell the Nigerian the bitter truth about all that is going on behind the scenes, remove the kid gloves, get real and fight the Haramists and their sponsors with all he has got.

If he refuses to do this or if he is cowered into not doing so by the moderate voices that are around him he can be rest assured that he will go down in history as the last President of a united Nigeria. I have little doubt that he knows who those that are behind Boko Haram are- it is now time for him to expose them and deal with them in a brutal and savage manner.

It is time for war. It is time to lock up and interogate all those that he suspects may be linked to the terrorists. It is time for him to use every method known to man to fight the insugency including better intelligence gathering, black ops, wet boys, covert operations and co-operation with various foreign and international intelligence and security agencies.
It is time for him to bomb Sambisi forest with nepam and burn it, together with everything that is inside of it, to the ground. It is time for him to rise up and exercise the full powers and authority of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

THE FILTH CALLED BOKO HARAM AND A SEASON OF SHAME - Femi Fani Kayode

THE FILTH CALLED BOKO HARAM AND A SEASON OF SHAME
By Femi Fani Kayode

Permit me to begin this contribution with some basic truisms: firstly that God is great and that He alone forges the destiny of nations and rules in the affairs of men. Secondly that He is faithful and true and that He alone is worthy of our fear and of our praise.

Lest despair and despondency sets in, it is right and proper to always remember this and to continue to reiterate these truisms given the horrific things that we are witnessing on a daily basis in our country today. This is a season of brutality, sadness and fear.

THE STRANGE DREAM OF A MUSLIM/MUSLIM TICKET

THE STRANGE DREAM OF A MUSLIM/MUSLIM TICKET
By Femi Fani-Kayode

''The last notable Christian-Christian ticket was Awolowo-Umeadi in 1979 and the last notable Muslim-Muslim ticket was Abiola-Kingibe in 1993. You can figure out the rest. But let the optimists know that reality always trounces wishful hope in political contests. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode's advice that we get real must be directed where it truly belongs - to the leadership of the APC’’- CHIEF KAYODE SAMUEL, FACEBOOK, 29th MARCH, 2014.
